MLB insider Mark Feinsand has linked the San Francisco Giants, New York Mets and New York Yankees to the biggest superstar in this winter's free agency class.
Major League Baseball is about to enter one of the more important free agency periods of the last 20 years. Multiple Cy Young winners, including Corbin Burnes, Blake Snell, Max Scherzer, and Justin Verlander, will be available.But none of those pitchers match the star power of Yankees outfielder Juan Soto. Soto has declined $440 million contract offers in order to reach unrestricted free agency.
'It's extremely rare for a player of Soto's caliber to reach free agency before his age-26 season, making the four-time All-Star a bit of a Hot Stove unicorn. Bryce Harper and Manny Machado were in similar situations after the 2018 season and each cashed in with free-agent deals worth at least $300 million,' Feinsand wrote.
