The original 1985 cult classic movie was directed by Joel Schumacher and followed a group of young people who have a variety of reactions to being newly thrust into adulthood after they graduate from Georgetown University.
Per Deadline, Sony is circling the possibility of making a new St. Elmo's Fire movie. Instead of being a reboot, the movie would be a form of sequel or legacy sequel. Because of this, its production would be contingent on the ability to reunite the entire main cast, namely Jonathan McCarthy, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, and Mare Winningham. There is no word as to whether any of the group of actors has yet been contacted about the project.St.
