Ford is targeting a sub-seven-minute lap around Germany's famous racetrack, and it will announce the time on December 10.
The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD appears in a new trailer that previews a documentary about its attempt to set a Nürburgring lap time. Ford CEO Jim Farley previously said the goal is for the car to set a sub-seven-minute time—the first for an American automaker.Ford will announce the GTD's official 'Ring lap time on Tuesday, December 10.
However, all that hardcore hardware wasn't designed just for kicks and giggles, it was to help the most powerful factory Mustang ever built to do what no other American car has done: set a sub-seven-minute lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
