Barnoldswick, Earby and Colne are the focus of new 15-year plans
Masterplans produced by paid consultants to enhance smaller towns in Pendle , such as Barnoldswick, Earby and Colne , must be acted upon and cash found for improvements, councillors have stressed.
Elsewhere, Nelson already has a masterplan from 2021, which guides investment decisions there. And Brierfield has had a 'vision' document since 2016. "My experience is that the county council is like a limp arm and won't help. For example, they will only resurface streets exactly as they were. How good is a masterplan if the county won't incorporate it?"
"We had a lot of input on this for the West Craven area. There is some worthwhile stuff and some stuff I'm less keen on. However, there is no funding."He said Colne Market Hall's redevelopment should have been allocated £16million rather than £6million actually allocated under the levelling-up agreement with the previous government.
