At the same time, they were able to use their calculations to produce a visualisation of the photon itself. Co-author, Professor Angela Demetriadou, also at the University of Birmingham, said:"The geometry and optical properties of the environment has profound consequences for how photons are emitted, including defining the photons shape, colour, and even how likely it is to exist."
