onisistent usage of a smartphone could be effecting your infants' lanuage developmentA new study coming from researchers with the Society for Research in Child
The study was completed with a test group of mothers and is said to be the first to document the real-time association between phone use and speech to infants in extended real-world interactions. Research found 1- to 2-minute intervals of phone use interfered with baby interaction by 26%.
Talk time should be one on one with your infant and can last just a few minutes at different times of the day. Direct speech to the infant can help enhance word learning and can improve the child's capacity to focus on and understand new phrases. Parents should keep these conversations brief and simple with a lot of repetition. Engage with your body language.
