This article contains spoilers for Stranger Things: The Voyage While Stranger Things is a series that has become synonymous with ‘80s horror and nostalgic Sci-Fi, the newest addition to the lore is taking fans on a journey across the sea, far away from Hawkins, Indiana, as a new Stranger Things tale seemingly channels The Last Voyage of the Demeter, but with a demogorgon twist.
Stranger Things: The Voyage will follow an original character, Captain Jacoby, who is apparently experiencing some money problems, as there isn’t a job he can afford to pass up, including taking a group of seemingly shady Russian people back home on his freighter ship called The Persephone from his port in Alaska.
Stranger Things: The Voyage Has A Creative Team Fans Should Be Excited About As revealed in a release from Dark Horse Comics, Stranger Things: The Voyage will be a four-part miniseries. It will be written by Stranger Things veteran Michael Moreci, who previously wrote Stranger Things: Kamchatka and Stranger Things Halloween Special.
Why Stranger Things: The Voyage Will Be Like The Last Voyage of the Demeter The Last Voyage of the Demeter is a 2023 film that further explored a truly understated moment in the original novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. The Demeter is the ship that transported Count Dracula, and when it arrived at its destination, the entire crew had been slaughtered, leaving only Dracula’s brainwashed minion, Renfield, alive to take the fall.
It is unknown when this new story will take place within the wider Stranger Things canon, though it seems as though fans will finally get the origin story of how the demogorgon seen in Russia during season 4 was brought to the prison in the first place. While that’s just speculation, this new series could be a fun opportunity to bridge the gap more definitively between the show and the comics by giving fans some background information on an important plot point from the series.
