A new behind-the-scenes Stranger Things season 4 video details Vecna's cool special effects prosthetics and makeup. Set six months after the Battle of Starcourt in season 3, the teenage heroes of Hawkins, Indiana, once again face off against an evil presence from the alternate dimension known as the Upside Down. This time, a terrifying telepathic being known as Vecna haunts and terrorizes his victims before brutally killing them with his mind powers. Revealed to be Henry Creel, Dr.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Stranger Things creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, wanted to utilize as much practical effects as possible when creating Vecna. This was to simulate the effects that were featured prominently in '80s science-fiction and horror films, as well as to give an imposing presence for the young actors to react to during their scenes.
Although the season 4 finale left Vecna's fate uncertain, it is heavily implied that he survived the attack from Robin Buckely , Nancy Wheeler , and Steve Harrington . However, due to the nature of the injuries Vecna sustained, as he was hit by multiple shotgun blasts as well as burned by Molotov cocktails, the creature will be further disfigured in the following season.
