drags on — and it is still quite a ways off thanks in part to the long writers’ strike and the ongoing actors’ strike — there is at least this to look forward to: The first stage play, which is set in the official continuity of the series as a prequel that will reveal the previously unknown backstory that illuminates most of what has transpired on the hit, the show will debut next month in London. One would assume it will transfer to America and Broadway at some point if it’s successful.

Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy… and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.
