Following mostly light precipitation in the morning hours, heavier rainfall is expected throughout the afternoon, continuing into Sunday. At least an inch of rain is expected at downtown Los Angeles, with 1-2 inches in the foothills over the weekend. The mountains areas are seeing snowfall at higher elevations.
The storm system is expected to clear up late Sunday but a new rainstorm is expected to then hit on Monday. Los Angeles and Orange counties will see an 80% chance of rain in the afternoon, with a high temperature of 59 degrees. About three-quarters of an inch is expected to fall in the area. Valleys and the Inland Empire will see a high of 56 degrees, with heavier rainfall in the afternoon, with 1-2 inches total expected.Mountain communities will see a high temperature of 45 degrees, with a few inches of snow falling at elevations over 7,500 feet on Saturday and 6,000 feet on Sunday.
