UK inflation remained at 2.0 per cent for the 12 months to June.
New figures published on Wednesday by the Office for National Statistics show that UK inflation remained at the same rate of 2.0 per cent for June. The Consumer Price Index inflation rate has now stayed at the Bank of England’s target level for the second month running.
However, it’s important to be aware that the earnings growth figure used for the Triple Lock will be published by the ONS on August 13, but as it stands, it looks set to be the key driver. Remember, these calculations are based on the current ONS data. The one to watch out for is the May to July earnings growth figure which will be published on August 13.
The International Consortium of British Pensioners advocates on behalf of expats affected by ‘frozen pensions’ and is behind the ‘End Frozen Pensions’ campaign, which aims to “end the injustice” for Brits who have moved abroad whose State Pension does not rise in-line with the Triple Lock every April.
