A brand-new Star Wars retcon has revealed new details about the canon origins of Darth Vader's dark side Force-sensitive group of Imperial Inquisitors. Although the Inquisitors were a relatively late addition to Star Wars movies and TV shows, they have become increasingly present on-screen, and their popularity only seems to be growing. The Inquisitors have now appeared in both animation and live-action, in shows including Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

&#x2715 Remove Ads Star Wars: Tales of the Empire depicted the efforts to kill Force-sensitives, as Barriss Offee became an Imperial Inquisitor and helped hunt down remaining Jedi for a time, until she realized she could not bring herself to do this. Star Wars: The Bad Batch also revealed that some children were being kidnapped for other nefarious projects, including Project Necromancer, which was meant to shore up Palpatine's eventual resurrection.

"Eventually, the Inquisitorius starts Project Harvester to find Force-attuned beings to train into future Inquisitors. The group also tries to convert any surviving Jedi, but kills any that refuse."
