This must have been the most satisfying thing ever.
There's been some confusion over the leadership of Square Enix recently, with the company announcing that its president and CEO of 10 years, Yosuke Matsuda, would be handing over both roles to Takashi Kiryu…. It appears the handover period is now complete, however, with Kiryu taking to the stage at the Final Fantasy 16 pre-launch celebration to announce his appointment, and instantly win the hearts and minds of Square Enix fans.
Our man is just getting warmed up, and this is when you start to realise Square Enix has made a really good choice. "Right off the bat, I was surprised," continued Kiryu."No title screen! Just some story text. I started to wonder if maybe my father had bought the wrong game! "And yeah! I had more than a few teachers tell me, if you play games all the time, you are not going to succeed in life. But! They would be very surprised to see me standing on this stage right now with you!"
