Tom Holland as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home in the final act
The possibility of seeing the Spider-Verse and the larger Marvel multiverse cross paths with the new Spider-Man series gets teased by the Marvel Cinematic Universe series' showrunner. The MCU timeline is about to finally tell a version of Peter Parker's origin story in Marvel Studios' ever-expanding franchise, with Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man arriving in the midst of The Multiverse Saga.
Jeff Trammell: I think there's room for pretty much anything in the series, depending on how long the show goes, hopefully, for a very long time. But I will say that for me right now, the important thing is making sure that this is a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. I love our kind of street-level aspect. We are primarily a New York-based show. There are a few instances where we kind of go a little out of New York that I won't spoil for readers or listeners.
In many ways, this can be seen to mirror how Tom Holland's Spider-Man didn't play a large part in the overarching MCU until Avengers: Infinity War, as the audience had to first get to know the young New York hero and his personal world.
