We’re currently in the pre-order period for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, following their eagerly awaited launch at last week’s Galaxy Unpacked. The first phones should reach consumers by the end of this month, but if anyone is looking for something extra special, they might want to wait.
The new firmware points to Samsung’s continued development of at least one more Galaxy Z Fold6 variant. Given the chatter has picked out the potential for both a high-end model of the Fold6 with an improved camera and increased storage, and a cheaper model which removes S-Pen support and cuts down on the internal storage and processor speed,
It’s also unlikely that these potential handsets are “ready to go” so the devices could reach the public in the near future. If that was the case, they would have debuted alongside the main model at Unpacked. It’s more likely that a tweaked Z Fold6, be it a premium “Ultra” or a lower-specced “Fan Edition” model—assuming Samsung decides to go ahead with a release—will show up late in 2024.
