) - It’s been a long time coming, but the new Silverhill Elementary is here. And it was worth the wait as they cut the ribbon on this beautiful campus located on County Road 55.
“Our last campus was built in 1956. So, some of our students were leaving classrooms from 1956. So we are excited to usher in a new era. I wish you could’ve seen their faces the first day of school. They are all smiles. Parents are waving and talking to me in carline about how excited they are, and how much they are loving this new space,” Principal Wendy Rodgers said. And it has all led up to this ceremony. And the students love it.
“There are a lot of empty classrooms, and I feel like it’s going to be a really good space to grow. I really like it so far,” Sofia said.“My first reaction was like, wow this is humongous. It is way bigger than our old school. And I was thinking about how safer it will be here than it was at our old school because of all the new security that’s here,” Kendra said.
