Newly appointed shadow foreign affairs minister, David Coleman, has blasted onto the scene in his new portfolio, accusing Labor of politicising antisemitism and failing to act decisively in the face of rising hate crimes.
Shadow foreign affairs minister David Coleman has entered his newly appointed portfolio with a bang, hitting out at Labor, condemning Mark Dreyfus and slamming Penny Wong 's foreign policy .
“In relation to Mr Dreyfus’ comments, to equate the grotesque nature of antisemitism and then to say it is grotesque to criticise Labor's appalling conduct on these matters, it's just a disgrace,” he told Sky News. The Coalition has also lashed out at Labor’s handling of the Israel-Palestine conflict, accusing the government of prioritising inner-city votes over national security and international relations.
Mr Coleman remarked that while a senior-level government representation was appropriate for such a solemn occasion, Senator Wong’s controversial handling of Middle East policy had led to condemnation from the Jewish community.
