Over 60 more cases involving sexual abuse of children at PA Juvenile and Residential Treatment Centers were filed on Wednesday. The new filing brings the number
of total cases alleging sexual abuse at these centers to over 200 victims.-three State-run facilities: Loysville Youth Development Center, North Central Secure Treatment Unit, and South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit-Devereaux Advanced Behavioral Health in Philadelphia-Carson Valley Children’s Aid in Philadelphia-The Universal Health Service facility.Jerome Block, attorney at Levy Konigsberg, said the most cases come from state-run facilities in PA.
Block is calling for the PA Attorney General and PA Governor Josh Shapiro to investigate these alleged sexual assault cases at PA juvenile detention centers. It’s important to note that not all the detention centers named in these lawsuits are owned and operated by the state. Some are privately owned.
