A national developer is building its first Texas seniors housing project in Carrollton.

Avenida Partners, which has operations based in California and Tennessee, is building the Avenida Carrollton community at 1875 Arbor Creek Drive. Scheduled to open late next year, the project will include 155 apartments and 48 duplex and triplex buildings.“While Avenida Partners continues to expand [its] footprint in Texas, we look forward to expertly constructing [its] vision of Avenida Carrollton as a thoughtfully designed senior living community that promotes wellness, engagement and genuine connection,” Brian Webster, president of KWA Construction, said in a statement.

Meeks + Partners and REES Associates architects designed the project, which will have what’s described as a “Texas modern” style with a four-story, 202,106-square-foot apartment building. The duplex and triplex buildings will have an additional 63,925 square feet of living space. The new community will include a 12,500-square-foot, two-story clubhouse that includes a theater, a private dining room, a fitness center, a creative arts studio, a clubroom and a bistro.Owner Avenida Partners has existing senior communities in California, Colorado, Tennessee, Illinois and Oklahoma. The company is also expanding into Florida with a project in Fort Meyers.
