Betty's Seafood Shack serves classic New England dishes, including Lobster rolls, fried shrimp, scallops, clams and cod
The new restaurant’s namesake and logo come from Marchel’s Portuguese water dog, Betty, who passed away in 2018. She was also the mascot of Water Dog Smokehouse.
“Water Dog’s branding and signage includes an image of Betty with a whole salmon in her mouth, as she did love her some salmon,”. “Similarly, Betty’s Seafood Shack will use Betty as its mascot, but now she will have a whole lobster in her mouth.” The owners decided to open the eatery to introduce a seafood shack in Margate similar to the ones they loved across New England.
