New scams to be aware of as central Ohioans

Our station has received several notices from local organizations about new scams that have been affecting central Ohioans.

You might notice profiles selling heavily discounted or free tickets online.

You receive an Explanation of Benefits document or Medicare Summary Notice document with a large quantity of supplies you have never received.Anyone who has been affected by this scam should contact the Ohio Senior Medicare Patrol at 800-293-4767, or go to proseniors.org to report the scam and get help obtaining a new Medicare number and card.Ohio Department of Job and Family Services

A report from the FICO credit scoring agency shows that card skimming grew 368% from 2021 to 2022, ODJFS says.
