"There's no way the Secure Act comes close to solving the coverage gap in the United States," Iwry said. "But the act is a good, constructive and necessary step forward."Iwry, for instance, co-authored a proposal to create an automatic IRA. That idea was endorsed by both candidates — then-Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain — in the 2008 presidential election campaign.
