President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. leads the Philippine National Police change of command of outgoing PGen Rodolfo Azurin Jr. and incoming PMGen Benjamin Acorda Jr. at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Monday, Apr. 24.
Marcos said that Acorda was “very steady” to do the job, noting the ongoing reform initiaves at PNP, from the housing of uniformed personnel to their pensions, including the probe into police officers involved in illegal drugs.“His name was always part of the shortlist. He is well-recognized within the police force at saka kahit na sa civilian, ‘yung mga civilian leadership natin ,” Marcos said.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sambisig” Class of 1991, Acorda will be the 29th PNP chief and the second under the Marcos administration.
