US authorities have uncovered a new plot by Iran to assassinate Donald Trump, with the Secret Service ramping up security for the presidential nominee. According to CNN on Wednesday, a “human source” has revealed the plot by the Middle Eastern country to assassinate Trump, multiple sources have told the network. There is no indication Trump’s would-be assassin last Saturday, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was connected to the plot, sources have said. Crooks was killed at the event.
” The Trump campaign would not disclose whether it was made aware of the Iran threat. “We do not comment on Trump’s security detail. All questions should be directed to The United States Secret Service,” the campaign said in a statement. On Wednesday, Seven’s US correspondent David Woiwod appeared on Sunrise, explaining the incident. “We’re just learning details of this in the past few moments or so,” Woiwod said.
