New guidance has been issued to help people report a change in circumstances.
Social Security Scotland has issued new guidance for people on Personal Independence Payment or Disability Living Allowance whose circumstances change while they are transferring from the Department for Work and Pensions IT system. However, the advice also applies to people in receipt of Adult or Child Disability Payments.
The latest figures from Social Security Scotland indicate that it is taking approximately 13 to 17 weeks to transfer someone’s award from the DWP to the devolved welfare system. The three-month window between notification of a case transfer should be enough time to report the change to the relevant department to ensure a smooth transition with no breaks in payments. Below is an overview of who you need to contact, full details are on mygov.scot, here.
