SEATAC, Wash. — A new performing arts space is coming to south King County in a location you may not expect. Sound Transit is partnering with an arts organization to create an art space free to the public at the
"We want to make sure this place is inclusive and has diversity and it's something nice, unique to the south King County," said Eduardo Mendonca. Mendonca is the production manager of the 2,000-square-foot space, known as"The Roadhouse," which will be located at the Sound Transit Angle Lake Station's parking garage. "We need to make this connection with the people that use this station, for the people that live in the area and for all the arts community," Mendonca said."We'll be having the community here at no cost. To see all the performances here,” Mendonca said.
The Roadhouse is set to officially open on Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. With hopes of this space striking a chord, for the greater south King County area for years to come. "Critical thinking, community building, creativity," Mendonca said."And if you use the arts, with anyone, but mostly with the young people, we'll have better professionals and better politicians in the future."KING would like to send you push notifications about the latest news and weather.
