The new casting choice for the upcoming Peaky Blinders could not be more perfect. After years of speculation and being stuck in a stagnant development process, Netflix finally greenlit the highly anticipated Peaky Blinders movie in June 2024. Since then, the project has picked up major steam after confirming that Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy will be reprising his role as the iconic Tommy Shelby and newcomer Rebecca Ferguson will star in the film alongside him.
Barry Keoghan Is Amazing Casting For The Peaky Blinders Movie Keoghan has a wide range and a natural, captivating aura Close It's always fascinating to watch Keoghan onscreen because of his ability to go full-blown Oliver Quick in Saltburn at seemingly any moment. Keoghan first rose to prominence as the eerie and vindictive Martin in Torgos Lanthimos' unsettling 2017 film The Killing of a Sacred Deer. Like the movie or not, Keoghan's performance is one of the clear highlights of the film and demonstrates an uncanny mastery of tension and subtle cues of misdirection. He has also played well-intentioned characters, such as George in Dunkirk, Druig in Eternals, Dominic Kearney in The Banshees of Inisherin, and Lt. Curtis Biddick in Master of the Air.
I Was A Little Worried About Peaky Blinders' Movie, But Now I'm Convinced Ferguson and Keoghan now add much-needed reassurance My only apprehensions about the Peaky Blinders movie were about it living up to the expectations and hype of the original series and whether it'll work as a movie after succeeding as one of the best gangster series of all time.
