Two House Republicans proposed legislation that would allow a company that makes coke – made from coal and used in steel – to claim renewable energy credits they can sell to utilities for cash. The sponsors, and owner SunCoke Energy, say the facility should get a “REC” because it resells heat waste to a neighboring facility, which uses that heat instead of natural gas for fuel.

Besides Roegner’s legislative salary of $77,674.20 in 2022, she reported income from a wide number of investments, including dividends from more than 100 companies.Most paid less than $1,000 each, though she received more than $100,000 in dividends from Amcor, an Australia-based packaging company; somewhere between $25,000 and $49,999 in interest from the U.S.

2. Other companies she had investments in include Arch Coal Altria Group, Microsoft, CVS, Smith & Wesson, Texas Roadhouse, Tesla, and Comcast. 3. She reported selling 28 securities last year for a loss, including stakes in Paypal, Target and Home Depot.5. Last year, Roegner accepted meals worth $120 from the Cleveland Orchestra and about $16 from the Alliance for Automotive Innovation.“I believe hunting and fishing is a right. It’s something that we’ve done since the dawn of time, before governments ever existed.”
