Seven Hills residents are petitioning to stop the city from creating an observation tower in Calvin Park.
SEVEN HILLS, Ohio – A proposed observation tower in a city park has some Seven Hills residents concerned for their safety, saying it could increase crime in their neighborhood.
Melissa Hughes has lived in the city for nine years and is president of the Seven Hills Recreation Association at Bramblewood Estates, a four-street subdivision with 79 homes right next to the park. She plans on bringing a petition to City Hall on Monday with signatures from residents demanding the tower not be built.
The city passed its first parks and recreation levy three years ago to update its amenities, including adding several projects at Calvin Park. “Park improvements are another form of economic development. Better amenities have a role in attracting more young families and active older adults to choose our city to raise their family and enjoy a quality lifestyle.”
