Latest Nottingham Forest news as new Reds chairman Tom Cartledge discusses the City Ground redevelopment project
New chairman Tom Cartledge says progress is being made with Nottingham Forest’s City Ground redevelopment project - albeit some patience is still required.
Little more than 12 months ago, the project was given approval by Rushcliffe Borough Council’s planning committee. However, work is yet to start, with certain conditions needing to be met as set out in the planning approval - including the demolition and relocation of boathouses by the River Trent. “You’ll bridge the link that I was involved in the instigation of the planning application for the Peter Taylor stand, which is nearing the right position to potentially start doing some work,” he told NottinghamshireLive as he outlined how he sees developing the club’s infrastructure as forming a key part of his role.
“We’ve lost maybe a couple of years of progression. But we now find ourselves in a league where our fans are visiting the Tottenham Hotspurs and the Arsenals and seeing what good looks like. We need to make sure we’re doing everything we can within the realms of the site we’ve got to provide that fan experience here.
