The new NBA draft rules are complicating life for college coaches
A year ago, before the rule change, the numbers were roughly similar to this year:
"Then you also have the transfer portal," Keatts said."And so those two factors are really tough right now on coaches to be able to juggle. I'm not the only one going through it. I know a lot of coaches are. You don't know how many guys to bring in. You don't know what your needs are." "Let's say all four were testing it, that is a challenge," Bennett said. "It's a challenge that's good for the young men in your program to get more accurate information, but there's that tension."
Or he could have Powell back on what would likely be a preseason Top 25 club. Powell was invited to the NBA G League Elite Camp, where five standouts can earn invites to the main NBA Combine, but is not projected to be drafted next month.He added:"I think it makes it difficult but if you're having guys that are testing the waters, then you've done a good job of building the roster.
"I think what those guys do on a yearly basis is really astounding because although they're dealing with extremely talented kids, they have to do it every year," Willard said."I think what they do is pretty darn incredible."
