New Nation Movement calls for May elections to be postponed

The New National Movement is seeking a change to the current Legislation determines South Africans can only vote for a political party and not individual candidates.The party is heading to the Constitutional Court, to appeal the dismissal of their application to stand as independent candidates in the upcoming elections.

The Movement’s coordinator Bulelani Mkohliswa says the elections will not be fair without this matter being put to bed.Legislation prescribes that in national and provincial elections, South Africans can only vote for a political party and not individual candidates.to allow South Africans to vote for independent candidates.
