The Cook Political Report says Republican challenger Tom Kean Jr. is a slight favorite to defeat Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski in 2022.
, and Van Drew’s district this year was redrawn to make him a stronger bet for re-election in 2022.
“Democrats on redistricting rated him a loser, now analysts rate him a loser,” Scharfenberger said. “Nevertheless, Tom Malinowski chalks up to an ethics-deprived, self-serving D.C. insider every step of the way. He shouldn’t expect a better rating from the voters of this district.”to Kean’s $648,007, acknowledged the unfriendly new lines in a recent fundraising email.
In the fundraising email, Malinowski also outlined an argument to attract those voters who backed Biden for president and Kean for Congress.
