New modern Italian restaurant opening in River Oaks
The game of “one door closes, another opens” is a familiar on the restaurant scene as new concepts quickly take roost in closed or failed locations.is set to open May 16 at the site that formerly housed Concura Italian Bites at 4340 Westheimer. Houston restaurateur Brian Doke, owner of Heights & Co. patio bar, has taken over the Concura space and redesigned it as a brighter restaurant with white walls, heavy greenery, airy patio, tilework.
“My hospitality career started in the River Oaks neighborhood many years ago at Tiny Boxwoods,” said Doke, who is no longer associated with the restaurants Savoir and Patton’s. “I am happy to return to the area showcasing the aspects of Italy that draw every visitor in: genuine hospitality, flavorful cuisine and delicious wine.”
Beginning June 1, the restaurant will launch a monthly tasting menu. Dante’s also will feature a monthly rotational board and bottle special from 3 to 5 p.m. And during summer months, guests will receive a complimentary spritz cocktail with their lunch entrees. Dante’s will be open for lunch, happy hour and dinner Tuesday through Saturday for lunch 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., happy hour 3 to 5 p.m., dinner 5 to 10 p.m. .
