New Mexico officials confirmed two people were dead after record rainfall produced severe flooding over the weekend.

The New Mexico National Guard said 309 people had been rescued with 38 of those people taken to hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Multiple agencies like the New Mexico National Guard, New Mexico State Police, Chavez County Sheriff's Office, and City of Roswell Police were involved in rescue operations according to the City of Roswell Facebook. Several city facilities such as the Recreation and Aquatic Center, Adult Center, Spring River Zoo, Public Library, Museum, Convention Center, Nancy Lopez Golf Course, and the South Park Cemetery will be closed until further notice, said the City of Roswell.
