spinoff has officially arrived, and Katy and friends are ready to make a name for themselves in the big city and fulfill their dreams … or are they?
“My mom was Katherine Keene. She was a seamstress,” says Katy , via voiceover, in the opening scenes of the trailer. “I was named after her. She always used to say, ‘You don’t have to be rich to be stylish.’ We would get inspired by our favorite designers and then make our own.” We then see child Katy with her mom admiring a store window and adult Katy busily working over her sewing machine as her boyfriend, a boxer named K.O. Kelly, looks on. We follow Katy as she hits the streets of NYC in a flashy red cape and matching heels to apply for a job as a personal shopper at a very fancy department store called Lacy’s — one Katy has dreamed of working at all her life.
