A swearing-in ceremony was held for Stephen Wojciechowski, the newest judge appointed to the Superior Court of Justice.
THUNDER BAY — The newest judge to join the bench in Northwestern Ontario has already been presiding over cases since January, but on Thursday he had an opportunity to celebrate the appointment in front of family and colleagues.
In the last three months, Wojciechowski has attended judicial training in Montreal and is currently presiding over a civil case. In 1990 he was called to the bar and began his law career as an associate with Buset & Eryou, now known as Buset LLP. A family member who was a lawyer inspired him to pursue it as a profession, as he was always intrigued by the justice system and helping others.
The justice system in Northwestern Ontario is currently facing several challenges, including an extremely high case load.
