New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has announced that he is closing the state’s sole women’s prison, following years of sexual abuse and misconduct on the part of prison guards and staff.\n

The report also discusses the sexual abuse and mistreatment that predates the January attacks, which rose to the level of requiring a Department of Justice investigation in 2020.
