Terminally ill adults in New Jersey will soon be able to ask for medical help to end their lives
Gov. Phil Murphy said he plans to sign a bill legalizing assisted suicide which passed the state legislature on Monday. The bill allows adults with a prognosis of six months or less to live to get a prescription for life-ending medication. Currently, California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, Hawaii, Montana and the District of Columbia allow physician-assisted suicide.

"We've heard lots of stories over the years because they didn't have another avenue to get help.
