A New Jersey native and Chestnut Hill College graduate, Billy DiMaio, was killed in the New Year's Eve truck attack in New Orleans. Two former Princeton University teammates, Tiger Bach and Ryan Quigley, also lost their lives or were injured in the attack.

A New Jersey native and Chestnut Hill College graduate, Billy DiMaio, was among over a dozen people killed in the New Year's Eve truck attack in New Orleans . DiMaio, of Homdel, New Jersey , was the captain of the school's championship lacrosse team and graduated in 2022 with a degree in Business Administration. 'Billy was a leader within our community who shined not only as a star student in the classroom, but also as a top athlete,' a statement read.

DiMaio is the third victim of the New Year's Eve terrorist attack with local connections. Princeton grad and former football player Tiger Bach was killed and Ryan Quigley, a Lansdale native, was injured with a broken leg. Bech and Quigley, teammates at Princeton, lived together in New York City and shared a close friendship.'He might be the first Tiger to ever play for us, and that nickname kind of described him as a competitor,' the Princeton Tiger's coach told ESPN. A GoFundMe campaign to support Quigley's recovery and honor Bech's memory quickly raised close to $80k. 'Ryan is a fighter, and his loved ones are rallying around him as he faces this challenge,' fundraiser organizers Jack Kelly and Dom Gambone wrote. 'In the same spirit, we want to honor Tiger’s memory by easing the burden on his family.
