As the final battle of the Marvel Universe approaches, Iron Man officially joins the X-Men - with a shock hero wearing Tony Stark's suit.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT As the X-Men reach the end of their critically acclaimed 'Krakoan Era,' the final version of the team has been revealed, and they have their own Iron Man. However, while Tony Stark has become a major ally of mutantkind lately, even marrying X-Men stalwart Emma Frost, it seems like another big game is actually inside the armor.
The group includes Wolverine, Synch, Ms. Marvel as Captain Krakoa, an upgraded version of Kate Pryde's Shadokat, and Iron Man's Mark Nil armor. At first glimpse, Iron Man looks like some kind of nightmare-fuel zombie, as holes in the armor reveal twisting brown fibers in an imitation of a human body. However, this isn't a desiccated Tony Stark - it appears to be Krakoa, the Island That Walks Like a Man.
The Final X-Men Get Their Own Iron Man Is Krakoa Replacing Tony Stark? Close Krakoa first appeared in 1975, and is an intelligent 'living island' which survives by leeching energy from mutants. In 2019, Jonathan Hickman revamped Marvel's X-Men comics by establishing a new status quo - after striking an alliance with Krakoa, the island became an official nation for mutants, whether hero or villain.
The Final X-Men Are a Product of the Krakoan Era - And That Means Iron Man Krakoa Also Deserves a Place in This Fight Krakoa itself has been at the heart of this era of X-Men comics, so it makes sense to amalgamate it with Iron Man's Mark Nil armor - which possesses a range of powers, from Spider-Man's wall-climbing to Vision's density control. It's also a fun reversal of the Captain Krakoa costume, where Krakoa's vegetable matter is used to give the wearer extra powers.
