After being called Interview with the Vampire for the first two seasons, season 3 has been retitled as The Vampire Lestat, with the series now adapting Anne Rice's novel of the same name. The vampire Lestat de Lioncourt will continue to be played by Sam Reid as he was in the show's two previous seasons, along with Jacob Anderson returning to play the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac.
AMC has now announced that a companion series, The Vampire Lestat: After Dark, will begin with a special preview episode on May 24, ahead of the main show's debut on June 7. The half-hour episodes are hosted by Lizzie Bassett and serve as an aftershow for The Vampire Lestat, featuring interviews from Reid, Anderson, and other cast members and producers, including Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, executive producer Mark Johnson, and executive producer and showrunner Rolin Jones.
Episodes will be released weekly on AMC+ and be available the next day on Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and other select platforms. Certain episodes will also air on AMC, such as the special preview episode on May 31, the season premiere on June 7, and the season finale on July 19. The special preview episode features Reid, Anderson, Zaman, Hayles, Bogosian, Jones, and Jones hinting at what fans can expect from the season, along with candid, behind-the-scenes stories.
