New Hyundai Kona: next SUV goes sci-fi
You’re looking at the all-new Hyundai Kona – no really – this is the futuristic replacement to the brand’s family-centric urban SUV. Clearly, it’s now gone as sci-fi as everything else from the range, and the result is yet another piece of forward-thinking design. Hyundai is truly putting out concept cars for the road right now.and the brand’s other EVs – but it comes in four different variants; pure EV, hybrid, conventional combustion engine and sportier N Line .
‘Upscaled with Kona’s unique character, the all-new Kona confidently expresses its bold and dynamic presence,’ said SangYup Lee, the head of Hyundai’s design centre. ‘Kona has evolved in every respect to embrace an even wider range of diversity, to become a true lifestyle supporter.’At 4355mm the new Kona is 150mm longer than before, with a 60mm wheelbase increase. Other tech specs are yet to come.
Elsewhere you’ll find more pixels on the EV version, while the ICE-powered varaints get bolder bumpers, wheelarches and also skid plates. As you’d expect, the N Line gets more aggressive front aprons, larger twin exhausts and different 19-inch allow wheels.Inside, the Kona features an airy cabin, dominated by two 12.3-inch displays.
