The new Community Resource Center opening on Nov. 1 will be in the Food Bank’s former distribution building on South Waterloo Road, just off the 152nd Street exit on Interstate 90 and near the Sylvia 37 bus stop. Here, they can visit the Food Bank’s new free-choice market or be directed to other agencies in the building, like the“Our goal was to give people the space to come in the weather to be comfortable and to be able to talk with other nonprofit partners,” Warzocha said.
It will be similar to the Euclid Neighborhood Pantry, which will close later this year as its replaced by the new free-choice pantry. The Food Bank also set up multipurpose conference rooms large enough for representatives from multiple organizations to meet with a client at the same time.
Shoes and Clothes for Kids will have 14,000 square feet of space, including warehousing, a new volunteer room, and five loading docks. Monica Lloyd, executive director of Shoes and Clothes for Kids, said the new space makes delivering and picking up supplies much easier.
