A Summit County Common Please Court judge sentenced a New Franklin Man to life in prison Friday for the murder of another man in 2022.
NEW FRANKLIN , Ohio - Judge Joy Malek Oldfield sentenced Mendoza to life in prison with the eligibility for parole after 18 years, according to a release from Summit County Prosecutor’s Office.
New Franklin police said Jeffrey Fisher, of Barberton, was shot in September 2022 while fleeing “a domestic altercation” at a home on Dailey Road in New Franklin.New Franklin police said officers were first called out to the motorcycle crash, but realized once on scene that Fisher had shooting injuries.“Jeffrey Fisher was leaving the scene when Eric Mendoza shot him in the back.
