Construction work for a $1.5 million field house is underway in Mountain View.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Construction work for a $1.5 million field house is underway in Mountain View , thanks to the help of a Bartlett High School grad who made it to the pros., with the help of grant funding, began the process of building a new field house that will provide youth with an indoor turf training space for baseball and softball, allowing kids a place to practice their skills year-round.

“We’ll have what’s called a skirt net, which will essentially make the entire building kind of like a batting cage, but it’ll have kind of modular netting situations, so we can configure it where we can cut it in half or into thirds to have different training activities for the kids,” Hill said. “This facility will allow kids to get indoors against our extreme weather for winter programming.”
