The move marks the franchise's first cinematic outing since Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero in 2022 and series creator Akira Toriyama's passing in 2024. One of the most surprising aspects of the announcement was that it was confirmed that Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer would be composing the score.
