Doctor Who season 14 star Ncuti Gatwa admits that he would sometimes get drunk and reveal his casting to strangers, who were thankfully discreet.
Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa nearly spoiled his casting by admitting his secret to strangers at bars. Gatwa is the latest actor to play the regenerating Time Lord known as The Doctor in the long-running British science-fiction television series. Season 14, which airs in 2024, will feature the return of showrunner Russell T. Davies, who originally oversaw the reboot of the series in 2005 after it went off the air in 1989.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT I was just like, "There’s no way I’ll get this. It’s a British institution and there’s no way they’ll cast a Black man." So, I just had fun. Doctor Who Season 14 Is Ncuti Gatwa's Introduction To Huge Franchises Gatwa's admission seems a little shocking in the era of huge media franchise secrecy. Many characters and plot details for films in franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars are kept under lock and key until the last possible second.
