New information was released regarding the deadly chain-reaction crash on I-70 in Licking County last year.

According to a lengthy report by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and released by the National Transportation Safety Board , Jacob McDonald, the driver of the semi-truck that caused the crash, told the highway patrol that on Nov. 14, 2023, he was traveling west on I-70 but did not remember anything beyond Exit 126. The crash occurred near mile marker 118, close to Etna."So, you don't remember anything after the 126 at all?" Macdonald was asked.
McDonald told investigators that after the crash, all he recalled was, "fire and damage coming over from my right side." He also stated he did not remember seeing an SUV between his truck and the charter bus just before the collision. When asked about the traffic leading up to the accident, he described it as quiet, not heavy. An NTSB medical specialist reported McDonald was taking a common medication at the time of the crash, but, "none of his reported medications are generally considered impairing."
