Turkish bar and grill Elif opened in the former NatWest bank building on Castle Street
A new city centre restaurant has suspended online bookings to keep up with the 'crazy' demand since opening. Elif opened its doors to the public on Castle Street this week and has already been booking out tables. Owner Alan May confirmed it is not currently taking online reservations after tables for the whole of August have been booked out. Instead, the restaurant is now accepting phone bookings only. Alan said: 'The response has been massive which is amazing.
Images from inside the restaurant show a full refurbishment of the Grade II listed building has been carried out. Many of the original features including a spectacular central stained-glass dome have been retained. Alongside intricate plasterwork on the ceiling that has been carefully renovated and painted and dark wooden panelling. Alan added: 'The new Castle Street Elif Turkish Bar and Grill is show-stopping. We have spent months painstakingly creating a luxurious dining destination.
